1-48COMBAT is a fast-paced and easy to learn but hard to master miniatures game, which uses stat cards and tokens to produce a realistic simulation and at the same time a very rewarding game experience!
Inside each 1-48COMBAT blister you’ll find a fabulously sculpted 1:48 scale miniature complete with a slim metal slot base, The initial release consist of 12 different miniatures, each with its own individual resin scenic piece. Every miniature plugs into the slotted metal
base using a standard tab. The figures and tokens are all cast in high quality lead-free pewter, the 60mm round scenic bases are made from strong, odourless polyurethane resin. The slotted metal base is cast in a lead rich alloy to weight down the figures; have you ever experienced the inevitable laws of gravity when handling metal figures mounted on plastic bases? All too easily the figure topples over, unless the gaming surface is completely flat... well that is not the case with 1-48COMBAT figures!! |
The gameplay is involving, passionate and satisfying, and can be experienced at its fullest already with a squad for each player composed of as few as five miniatures!
1-48COMBAT is played on a board as small as 60x60 cm (2'x2') or as much larger as you like. The whole game can be scaled up without bogging down thanks to its unique command and control system. 1-48COMBAT is generally played by two people, each in command of a single squad, such as the defenders of Stalingrad or the Wehrmacht 6th Army. A player force don't need to be limited to a single squad however, and three or four players games can be lot of fun!

What 1:48 means and how big are these figures?
1-48 is an exact scale, it means that the scaled models are 48 times smaller than the actual size of the real object. It is sometimes referred to as quarter scale because a quarter inch represents one foot and is equivalent to the model trains 0 scale in USA (in the UK 0 Scale is more commonly 1/43.5 or 7mm to the foot and in the rest of Europe 0 Scale is 1/45). Tamiya and other scale model makers have recently begun to manufacture a line of military ground vehicle models in this scale. An average standing man in 1:48 scale is approximately 36mm tall, so 1-48COMBAT figures are fairly close in size to the commonly called 32mm (when measured to the eyes) or "heroic scale" wargame figures, but are slightly more realistically proportioned. |
